Gather
Today is an opportunity to make form time feel different and distinct. You could choose to dim the lights to make the space feel different. While in Lent we won’t provide instrumental music, but if you would prefer, you can find your own.
We begin our time together as we invite you to make the Sign of the Cross
R./ In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The opening prayer can be led by anyone, yourself or a volunteer, you could even crate a rota for each week so everyone gets a turn.
Let us pray,
Lord Jesus Christ,
You suffered unjust arrest, humiliation, torment, and pain for our sake
You did not give up but continued until your task was accomplished
Reside with us today, teach us your love for us
We ask this in your name.
Amen.
The Word
Every time we come together we’ll explore a different part of God’s story, starting at the beginning and journeying through the year. Again, there is an opportunity for anyone who feels comfortable to read the scripture out loud.
You could then have a period of silence to think about what you’ve heard or discuss what you’ve read as a class.
The scripture is longer today, so please read the left hand side “part 1” first, then the right hand side “part 2” after.
