Communication can take many forms in the world today. It is a way of building relationships and sharing the good news of our faith with others. This week we are called to think about the different ways we can communicate God’s message to the world and how we can bring people together and inspire others through the message that we share.
Day 1 – Head
On the first day of our prayer we will be reflecting on The Word of God to help us to understand our theme.
We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Have you ever watched a toddler learning to talk? First come the babbles, then the first real word, and then suddenly — questions, stories, arguments! We’re born wanting to connect.
In the beginning, God speaks, and when He speaks, the world begins. His Word isn’t just sound — it creates. His speech brings light, life, and order. That same Word becomes flesh in Jesus Christ (John 1:14), so we can hear, see, and even touch God’s voice.
From the first page of the Bible to the last, God is trying to get our attention. Not to boss us around — but to speak with us. He invites us into a real conversation.
Let us pray:
God, our Father,
Open our ears and hearts to hear your voice
Speak into the silence of our hearts,
and helps us to listen to your Word with faith and wonder,
just as You listen to us, each and every day.
Amen.

Day 2 – Heart
On the second day of the week we focus on our hearts. How can the scripture that we looked at previously impact our lives, and the lives of others? What themes can we draw from the scripture?
We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Think about how much we long to be understood — to say something and have someone really get it. That longing is part of what it means to be human, because we are made in the image of a God who communicates.
Prayer is not just “talking at” God — it’s learning how to listen, just like a child learning to speak by listening to a parent. He speaks quietly, sometimes through Scripture, sometimes through the gentle nudge of your conscience, or the encouragement of a friend.
And because we are made in His image, our words carry power too. Every time we speak, we have the choice: will our words bring light or darkness? Will they build or break?
Most of us speak thousands of words every day — what if even a few of those could help someone feel seen, understood, or loved?
Let us pray:
Jesus, Word made flesh,
teach us to speak like You.
Let our words bring peace, not pressure;
comfort, not criticism.
Make our hearts gentle and our voices kind.
Amen.

Day 3: Hands
On the final day of the week we try to put into action the things we have learnt and reflected on previously in the week, hence the hands link!
We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Mission:
📱 Take some time to quietly write three messages; one to yourself, one to a friend, and one to God.
- 🧍♂️ To yourself: Write down a message you think you need to hear more often. Maybe it’s “You’re doing okay,” or “You are loved.”
- 👥 To a friend: Send a message you’ve been meaning to say, but haven’t. Maybe it’s “Thanks,” “I’m sorry,” or “You matter to me.”
- 🙏 To God: Write a short prayer to Him — even just a sentence. “Help me,” “I’m here,” or “Thank You.”
You might be surprised what happens when you speak with love and courage.
Please keep the message you have written for yourself.
If you feel confident enough, you can give the message you wrote to your friend.
The message you wrote to God, if you want to, can be placed in the prayer room or Chapel on the prayer focuses there.

As a group, none of us felt like we were completely understood by everyone. We all had some sense of being misunderstood by others.
