Gather
Today is an opportunity to make form time feel different and distinct. You could use this song, recorded by The choir and Mr Durnell to create an atmosphere in the room before the students come in or some other instrumental music if you would prefer.
We begin our time together as we invite you to make the Sign of the Cross
R./ In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The opening prayer can be led by anyone, yourself or a volunteer, you could even crate a rota for each week so everyone gets a turn.
Let us pray.
Lord God of deliverance,
You rescued Your people from slavery and taught them to be ready when You called.
As we hear Your Word today, help us to listen with hearts that are awake and willing.
Teach us to trust that even in times of fear or change, You are with us.
Make us ready—not just in body, but in spirit—to follow where You lead.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
The Word
Every time we come together we’ll explore a different part of God’s story, starting at the beginning and journeying through the year. Again, there is an opportunity for anyone who feels comfortable to read the scripture (image on the left) out loud.
You could then have a period of silence to think about what you’ve heard or discuss what you’ve read as a class.
After this, please use the suggested “Story” (Image on the right) to retell and reflect on the scripture, again anyone can read this out.

Response
Each week we’ll respond to the scripture in different ways, so play the video below and follow along to explore this chapter of our story.
Mission
We’ve heard how we can live out our faith today in the video, think about what this might mean for you as we share the closing prayer – again anyone can lead this with the class
Let us pray.
God of freedom and faithfulness,
You passed over the homes of Your people and led them out into a new beginning.
As we go now into our day,
may we go ready to follow You,
to act with courage,
and to trust in Your promises.
Keep us prepared—not just in our plans, but in our hearts.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
We end our time together as we invite you to make the Sign of the Cross
R./ In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
