This term at St Mary’s has started wonderfully! We have had retreats in Year 6, Year 5, Year 3, Year 2 and Year 1 already, with everyone else’s happening when we come back after the break.
The students have spent time exploring their Come and See Topics more through music, scripture and prayer and have had an amazing time-look at some of the incredible work they have done!
We also appointed our brand new Chaplaincy Team, made up of four students from Y5 and nine students from Y6. They have prepared and led a Celebration of the Word for CAFOD Harvest Fast Day, and have also been monitoring our prayer tables around school to make sure that they give us the best opportunities to pray. They also went to Trinity for a special Hub Training Day and were commissioned as a Chaplaincy Team with their certificates, badges and rosary beads by Fr Simon and Fr Joe.
Some of our students also went along to the Our Lady of Lourdes CMAT SYNOD Event on Thursday 19th October with Mrs Bell, where they explored how we can make our Church a more welcome community.
Overall it’s been a fabulous first half term and we can’t wait for you to see what we get up to after the break!
