22/04/2024 – Week 26

Day 1 – Head

We begin our prayer today with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, Amen.

Today we will explore this weeks scripture. This week we will be focusing on the theme of vocation.

We take a moment today to think about all those around us who accepted a vocation to serve others. Those who work to support and look after their neighbours, such as those in the health industry, those who work to educate us, and those who we go to during our time of need.

We thank god for giving all these people a calling and we thank them for accepting that call.

We thank God for all these people as we say together:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

We end our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Day 2 – Heart

We begin our prayer today with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, Amen.

Yesterday we listened to the scripture of Jesus telling us all we are called and chosen by God. We start our day by recalling what you remember about that piece of scripture.

  1. What did we get appointed to do?
  2. What did Jesus say that the Father would give us?
  3. Whose Gospel was the reading from?

Today we think about what God has chosen us to do. He has chosen each of us to have a specific role in our lives. Think about what this role may be as we listen to the words of St John Henry Newman a saint who knew God had chosen him but didn’t know why and what for. He is someone who still believed that God’s mission for him would be fulfilled.

As St John Henry Newman says we may not know that plans God has for us in this life but we can be sure that he will also keep us close to him, no matter where that path takes us God will be by our side.

Take a moment to think about your path so far. Has there been times when God has called you to do something ? Did you listen ?

Someone who was called by God for a specific role was Mary. Her listening to Gods vocation for her was a very brave and courageous thing to do. We ask Mary to help us accept Gods calling as we say:

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

We end our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Day 3 – Hands

We begin our prayer today with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, Amen.

As we have been looking at vocation this week. Today we are going to discus with our forms what we feel we are being called to do as individuals.

Discuss with the person next to you then your form the following questions:

  1. What is God calling you to be? What Job do you feel called to?
  2. How is God calling us to act in our day to day life?

Comment below your answers!!
Now take some time to reflect on what you think God is calling you to do today as you listen to the song below:

We are all called by God to be the best we can. During your time at The Trinity is when you may hear that calling and so we should always stive to be our best self.

We look to God our Father for the guidance and support to succeed in our lives and so we continue to prayer for this as we say together:

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

We end our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Answers: 1. Go and bear much fruit. 2. Anything we ask in Jesus’ name. 3. John

  • many of us in the class felt that our calling at this moment in time is to be kind helpful and caring towards others.

  • God is calling us to be a witness and a follower. God is asking us to help others, and be gentle towards one another. In our daily life, God is asking us to be kind, loving and to follow through with what you say you will do and to do what you preach.

  • We feel that we are called to do some jobs. Examples are a Child Nurse or even a therapist. We think we are called to act responsibly every day.

  • 7L1 learnt that a vocation is a mission that God gave you, when you have a vocation it takes time and be patient. The video’s have been inspiring, we know that everyone will have their own personal vocation. They won’t all come at the same time. It doesn’t just benefit you, it benefits others.
