Week 36: Celebration! 21/07/25

A celebration is when we come together to rejoice in the things that are good. It is a time to give thanks to God for all his blessings and to recognise what he’s given to us in love. We should always look for things we can celebrate, and though our celebrations, we can share happiness and joy with others.

We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

As the end of our Year draws to a close, let us Celebrate all that we have done this year, with a joyful song of praise, Psalm 150: the last Psalm in the Book of Psalms.

This week, we Celebrate all our achievements and growth this year.

We have a lot to Celebrate about this year.

Take a moment to reflect on the entire year; everything that has happened, all the ways you have grown, everything you have to celebrate.

It could be from getting to know each other better, to a particular activity that you accomplished, to an academic struggle you soldiered through.

We would like you to write any and all of these Achievements, anything you have that you would like to Celebrate, on a single piece of A4 card with your form group’s name on.

Here is an example:

It doesn’t need individual names, just your form name!

This will be presented in our End of Year Celebration of the Word by one member of the form, so keep hold of it and bring it on Friday Period 3!

Let us pray,

Dear Lord,
Help us to appreciate our own successes
Help us to grow in recognition of our failings
Help us to find joy in our lives
Help us to find reasons to celebrate
As we draw this year to a close,
we ask you to guide us to always find joy in our lives,
and to grow ever closer to you
We ask this in Jesus’ name
Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
