Day 1 – Head
We begin our prayer today with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, Amen.
This week we will be looking at a very important time in Jesus’ life. Like us all Jesus was tempted by evil however every time the temptation was given Jesus responded with a piece of scripture to counter the offer from the Evil being.
We are going to watch a short video showing us how after Jesus was baptised he went to the desert and resisted the evil being.
Jesus spent those 40 days and nights in the desert praying, fasting and becoming closer to God. Once He had finished this time he went on to start his work healing and teaching people about Gods love.
During this Lent time we fast and pray just as Jesus did and like him we may be tempted to go astray and give in to those temptations.
Let us think about how sometimes we may give in and do the wrong thing. Let us ask the Lord for his forgiveness as we say the our father pray together.
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
We end our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Day 2 – Heart
We begin our prayer today with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, Amen.
Yesterday we watched a video on the Temptation of Jesus. Today we are going to focus on how in our own lives we are tempted to do things and how we try our best to avoid such temptation.
First lets see how much you remember from yesterday.
- When Jesus was tempted to turn Stone to bread he said ” people do not live on bread alone but live on” ?
- What had Jesus done just before being led into the desert?
- What was the final temptation?
Now think about times you have been tempted in the last few weeks. Maybe it has been something you have given up for Lent or maybe its doing something you know is wrong.
Listen to this song and reflect on what you have been tempted to do.
We ask for forgiveness as we say together:
Lord we are sorry.
We end our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Day 3 – Hands
We begin our prayer today with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, Amen.
Over the Lent period we focus on reflecting on ourselves and how we can prepare to welcome the sacrifice and love of Christ. We can do this in many ways one of them is when we give up a luxurious item such as food, electronics and time.
We do this to remind us that in our complicated lives we can always live simply. Just like how we should always look to Christ to be that example for us on how we should live our lives supporting those in need.
A great way to do this is through the work of CAFOD. Watch the video below to see what CAFOD are focusing on during Lent.
We are now going to thank god for our lives by saying the Glory be together:
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Another great way to reflect is to attend Reconciliation.
Please find the form below and if any students whish to receive the sacrament this will take place next week.

We end our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

We should try follow Jesus’ example by resisting temptation to fail what we have given up for lent.
Even if we are going through bad times in our life we should always worship God and pray for better times.
If we are being tempted, something we can do to resist this is to know our word. By which we mean knowing the reasoning behind exhibiting positive behaviour and knowing how our actions can do good in the world.
we learnt that Jesus was tempted by the devil to worship him
The song was very touching. Made us think about temptation.
Tiago cannot be tempted.
A lovely video, very thought provoking.
Thank you
