Week 36: Gratitude 14/07/25

Gratitude is being thankful for what we have. It is about being grateful for the good things in our lives. We have a lot to be grateful for and it is important to take time to appreciate the good things in our lives. Having gratitude helps us to be truly happy and to live a fulfilling life.

Day 1 – Head

On the first day of our prayer we will be reflecting on The Word of God to help us to understand our theme.

We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Book of Psalms is one of the most beautifully written Books of the Bible, as it is a book full of songs and poetry.

In it, there are Psalms about loving God, following His commandments, and listening to His Word, but there are also very emotional psalms, such as Psalm 109 which is a very Angry Psalm.

Today we turn to Psalm 136, which begins by giving thanks to God.

The Psalm then goes on to thank God for all the wonderful works He has done.

This week, let us thank God for all He has given us.

Let us pray,

Our Father,
You give us every good thing, and make sure we are never left without what we need
Thank you for all that you give us
Help us not to take what we have for granted
Instil in us a greater sense of Gratitude
Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Day 2 – Heart

On the second day of the week we focus on our hearts. How can the scripture that we looked at previously impact our lives, and the lives of others? What themes can we draw from the scripture?

We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

This week is Culture Week, and one of the many blessings God has given us is our fantastically diverse culture in our school.

So this week, let us remind ourselves to be respectful of each other’s culture, heritage, and to remember to thank each other, and God, for our shared community.

Let us pray,

Our Father,
With joyful praise
We thank you for all that you give us
We thank you for our heritage and our cultures
We thank you for the path that has brought us here today
We thank you for our many differences
We thank you for our

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Day 3: Hands

On the final day of the week we try to put into action the things we have learnt and reflected on previously in the week, hence the hands link!

We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Mission:

Find out if any of your friends have a cultural heritage you didn’t know about.

Ask around to see what cultures you have in your form group, and comment below to see how many each tutor group has!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
