Support is the act of providing encouragement and assistance. It is about being there for someone when they need you Just as Jesus is there for each of us. We will all have times when we need support from those around us and this can help us to cope with challenges and to achieve our goals.
Day 1 – Head
On the first day of our prayer we will be reflecting on The Word of God to help us to understand our theme.
We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
We turn today to the Book of Ecclesiastes, one of the Wisdom Books, to find inspiration on Support.

The author of the Book of Ecclesiastes isn’t known for sure, as he calls himself Teacher, or Preacher, but he does remind us that we are much stronger when we support each other, and we will be taking the idea of a threefold cord into the rest of the week.
Let us pray,
Dear Lord,
We ask you to support us in all we do
May we rely on you, and others to uphold us
And may we always trust in your goodness
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Day 2 – Heart
On the second day of the week we focus on our hearts. How can the scripture that we looked at previously impact our lives, and the lives of others? What themes can we draw from the scripture?
We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Today, we are going to reflect on the idea of a Threefold cord that we heard in our scripture yesterday.
To help us be supported to be the best we can, we need to surround ourselves with support, like a cord that is weaved together to make it stronger.
Today, we’d like you to think about the support that you have.
You are the first cord in your support, but if you don’t have anyone around you to support you, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and overburdened.
Decide on two other supports for you.
One could be your family, one could be your friends.
You may feel that a particular teacher supports you, or our school as a whole is somewhere you feel supported.
It may be a group of people such as Scouts or Guides, or Cadets.
Or one could be a particular person in your life that you feel is always there for you.
Please take some time to quietly pray for your supports.
To thank God for them, and to pray for them that they may also feel supported.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Day 3: Hands
On the final day of the week we try to put into action the things we have learnt and reflected on previously in the week, hence the hands link!
We begin our prayer with the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Mission:
Be the support in someone else’s life.

You don’t have to be constantly in someone’s life to support them, small acts, checking in on them, and making time for them go a really long way to supporting others.
So this week, find at least one opportunity to support someone in your life.
Let us pray,
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the people and communities in our lives that support us
We ask you to look after them, and to give us the courage and opportunities to support them in return
We ask this in your name, Jesus Christ
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
